Our live sets blend original compositions with fresh interpretations of traditional Middle Eastern pieces. Performances run 45–90 minutes and centre on the full ensemble’s dynamic, improvisational energy. Every show invites the audience into the experience with interactive moments, shared grooves, and communal atmosphere included.
Makam Salam can perform as a tight 6-piece core band or expand into a 12–15-member ensemble for a full collaborative showcase. Larger formats feature multiple acclaimed vocalists, rich vocal harmonies, and a wide sonic palette that blends jazz, orchestral colours and contemporary Middle Eastern textures.
We offer a range of participatory workshops tailored for festivals, communities and organizations. These include:
Circle Singing and multilingual harmony sessions
Music-as-healing spaces focused on peacebuilding and processing grief

All instruments welcome — melody, rhythm and voice. Participants should bring their own instruments.
A central part of our work happens offstage. We host regular community jam sessions that bring together musicians and audience members from across cultures, borders and often polarized backgrounds. These gatherings create a space to play, improvise, talk and genuinely meet each other — a grassroots bridge-building practice that has become one of our most meaningful forms of impact.
Alongside this, we regularly partner with humanitarian initiatives, support fundraising efforts and use shared artistry to foster real dialogue and understanding.
Our concerts usually fundraise for a given pressing humanitarian cause needed in the region - from humanitarian aid to Palestinian families to helping peace-building organizations, amplifying the impact by both fundraising directly and increasing awareness.
